This position will be responsible for assisting Transport America in pursuit of its revenue, efficiency and operating margin objectives by providing comprehensive and timely pricing recommendations in accordance with the company's market strategies, operating costs and alternative business opportunities. Secondary responsibility to create and maintain rate tables in Client Server Applications in a timely manner to ensure accurate processing of rates on accounts for primary line haul and accessorial charges.

 In addition, this role is responsible to support business improvement by meeting personal and departmental goals and objectives timely and effectively.



 Day-to-day responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide timely pricing recommendations and approval for spot market freight based on current strategy, goals and market environment.
  • Work closely with operations to ensure utilization and freight needs are addressed.
  • Understand network density, network balance, capacity considerations and operating cost characteristics.
  • Interpret rate and accessorial agreements to create and maintain accurate rate tables in database to process rates for billers. Create secondary rate tables to attach charges unique to particular accounts.
  • Facilitate information flow from Pricing Department to distribute to appropriate Billing Specialist on accounts.
  • Make rate pages available in scanned documents.
  • Update and maintain information in Customer Information Module (CIM) in Client Server.
  • Provide and maintain access to customers on the TA Website/eServices.
  • Assist Pricing Analysts or others in researching discrepancies and adjustments that are rate related.
  • Create and maintain documents in MSWord, Excel, and Access to assist billers with interpretation of rate choices, and to organize and document complex rate schedule.
  • Maintain recordkeeping and update data management systems; maintaining information in systems.
  • Assist with setup of bids in Bid Tool.

  • High School diploma required or equivalent.
  • 2+ years office experience required, transportation industry required.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize workload and work with constant updates.
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail, strong work ethic, and a positive attitude.
  • Self-motivated and results driven individual who thrives in a fast paced environment.
  • Skill in researching data and organizing it into useful information presentations.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, including phone skills.
  • Proficient in MSWord and Excel. Ability to do data entry in Access. Ability to type at least 45 wpm.
  • Strong 10-key abilities.
  • Some light lifting (under 20 pounds).
