Customer/Account Manager Opportunity 


Transport America has an immediate need for a front-line, Customer Account Manager.  We are seeking strong, passionate leaders who are results-driven and thrive on making significant decisions to impact Transport America's operations. 

The Customer Manager role is accountable for developing strong, long-lasting relationships with their customer base to sustain and build a book of business.  Customer Managers also ensure timely monitoring of freight, communication to the customer, effective issue resolution and detailed follow through.  These results-driven leaders thrive on making important decisions that result in having a significant impact on the business.  


Specifically, this position is accountable for:

  • Managing a portfolio of accounts to meet customer expectations and TA company metrics
  • Building effective business relationships with internal and external customers
  • Proactively manage and monitor day to day activity
  • Anticipating and facilitating problem resolution with any shipments at risk of meeting service requirements
  • Understanding of TA operating network to work with customers to enhance existing business and increase load volume
  • Utilizing network balance and pricing tools to perform daily solicitation to existing accounts to offset capacity      imbalances
  • Collaborating with internal customers to expand service offerings to enhance the customer's experience
  • Making operational decisions that directly relate to company margin
  • Providing business updates for assigned accounts to leadership on a routine basis
  • Assisting with coverage of other customers as needed 


Our desired candidate has:

  • College degree preferred
  • 1-3 years professional experience in a business to business environment working directly with customers
  • Demonstrated understanding of the industry preferred
  • Must be able to work some weekends on a rotation basis
  • Competitive and driven by the opportunity to succeed in personal and professional growth and the goal of winning
  • High initiative and high energy
  • Confident, self-motivated and results driven individual who thrives in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to navigate through a tough conversation and still maintain customer relationship
  • Excellent communication, relationship building and problem solving skills
  • Ability to effectively resolve conflict and maintain composure
  • Ability to partner with a diverse group of people (internally & externally)
  • Ability to provide solutions and come to win-win resolutions
  • Strong PC skills
